Vartana conducted substantial and unprecedented research into the financial and other associated needs of Canadian social sector organizations. This research came in the form of focus groups, quantitative and qualitative research. A significant amount of effort and funding went into this work - and though it was largely done in 2004 it still contains useful insight into the needs of the sector, and interest in sector focused, sector driven financial and other needs.
